ANCIENT
WISDOM
Hinduism - Buddhism - Confucianism - Taoism - Islam - Judaism
- Christianity
Wisdom can be found in all of these primary religions
of man. It is as applicable today as it was at the time
the founders of these great religions exposed it to the
people and places of their times. The following is some
of this wisdom that not only survives, but is a beacon
for our moral conduct today.
Christ: In expressing himself on what he stated to be the
Golden Rule, Christ said. "Do unto others as you
would have others do unto you."
Confucius:
When asked "Is there a single saying that
ought to be acted upon throughout one's life?" The
Master said, "Perhaps the word of Shu', which means,
never do to others what you would not like them to do to
you.
Confucius: At first my way of dealing with others was
to listen to their words and to take their actions upon
trust. Now my way is to listen to what they say and then
watch to see what they do.
Quote From Famous Hindu Sanskrit Poem: Look to this day,
for it is Life. For Yesterday is already a Dream, and Tomorrow
is only a Vision. But, Today, Well lived, makes every Yesterday
a Dream of Happiness, and every Tomorrow, a Vision of Hope.
Confucius: Those who differ in their principles
cannot take counsel with each other.
Hindu Author Unknown: Both the body and mind should be
fed and rested, not because they are real but because they
are the vehicle of your reality.
